Constable Services of Massachusetts

Service of Process in Massachusetts

The judicial system depends on process servers to safeguard due process, the principle that no one should face legal action without fair notice. By personally delivering court documents and verifying service through sworn returns, process servers create the foundation upon which hearings, motions, and trials can lawfully continue. Their work prevents delays, protects litigants’ rights, and ensures that justice is carried out transparently and reliably.

OUT-OF-STATE DOCUMENTS TO SERVE IN MASSACHUSETTS
We can serve out‑of‑state paperwork anywhere in Massachusetts for a flat fee of $125.00. We do not charge per attempt. For example, if you need a Summons and Complaint served on someone at 123 Main Street in Worcester and it requires three attempts before it's served in-hand, your total remains $125.00—while many process servers bill for each individual attempt. The only additional cost would be for a bad or incorrect address, and that fee will not exceed $50.00.

(This pricing applies exclusively to out‑of‑state documents)

I NEED DOCUMENTS FROM MASSACHUSETTS SERVED IN ANOTHER STATE

We can streamline the process for you and ensure your legal documents are served properly through our nationwide network of process servers. The fees for serving documents in other states vary, so please send us an email for the total flat fee.

HAVE US APPOINTED AS SPECIAL PROCESS SERVER - Mass.R.Civ.P. 4(c)

Confusion about who can legally serve your documents is common, but the solution is straightforward: ask the court to appoint IPS as your Special Process Server under Rule 4(c). Once appointed, we are authorized to serve any type of legal document anywhere in Massachusetts, giving you speed, control, and reliability from the start of your case.

Why litigants choose a Rule 4(c) appointment
  • Faster service with flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends.
  • Higher success rates when defendants are evasive or difficult to locate.
  • Statewide authority without the jurisdictional limits that apply to sheriffs or constables.
  • Direct communication with real‑time updates from one dedicated professional.
  • Court‑ready documentation that is accurate, thorough, and designed to avoid delays.

Appointing IPS ensures your documents are served quickly, correctly, and with full accountability, giving your case a smoother and more efficient start.
